Book Review: Amber Green Takes Manhattan

So I quite recently went on a little trip to the seaside and found a cut little shop called ‘The Book and Puzzle’ where I brought the book ‘The Stylist’ which I reviewed here. I also managed to pick up the sequel to this book ‘Amber Green Takes Manhattan’.

As Amber Green is back to working an everyday job that she is enjoying and doesn’t feel embarrassed telling people about, her boyfriend gets offered to go and work in Manhattan for a number of months for the world famous Angel Wear lingerie models. Whilst her other half is busy working, Amber takes the opportunity to join him and try to take the celebrity styling world by storm. Amber takes this chance to build her Instagram following and finds herself slightly obsessed with the new Instagram fame she is struck with.

After reading ‘The Stylist’ I was able to jump straight into reading about Amber Green’s next journey. Just like when I read the stylist it only took me a couple of days to get into it. I feel like a lot of people could grow to understand Amber’s journey and also relate to the obsession of social media and feeling like they have to take multiple pictures and share them to gain more likes and a higher number of followers.

The great thing about this book was not just seeing how social media had an impact on her work but also how it effected her relationship with other people and she did not see the impact her photos of other people was having an impact on them

I wouldn’t rate this book as high as I rated ‘The Stylist’ but I do feel that it follows very closely behind. I would rate this book a 8/10.

Amber Green takes Manhattan is currently on offer at Amazon for £2.99, this can be found below!

What Next?

I was also able to purchase another book from ‘The book and puzzle’ called ‘Unleashing Mr Darcy’. I am hoping to read this book before going back to work and I’m looking forward to see how they are going to do a modern day Mr Darcy.

I haven’t read a book where the topic surrounds social media before, this book seems really interesting!

This sounds like such an interesting post omg! I’m considering buying it as it sounds like my kind of book, plus would love to read a book centred around social media!

A great blog post! I think I may try and read this book. I have never really read a book based around social media. It sounds quite ironic since we are all on social media for blogging! Haha. 😊🌸 x
