Now, we all have them days where we wake up and our hair is just full of grease! I tend to have this daily as my hair is prone to greasiness. Lately I have tried to avoid waking up and not being able to stand touching my hair and this how I have been doing it!
Stop Touching Your Hair!
I am guilty in constantly touching my touchy my hair, especially when I just have it straight or in waves my hand is constantly pushing my hair back. But, just like avoiding touching your face you should avoid touching your hair, all the dirty and germs you are carrying on your hands are being transferred onto your hair and this is transferring oils onto it and giving it that greasy look and feel!
This is my downfall, my hair gets greasy very easily which means that I am washing it pretty much everyday. THIS IS NOT GOOD! Unfortunately, washing away the grease from your hair is also washing away the natural oils from your scalp and produces more to replace them. The best thing to do is to start washing your hair every other day or 2-3 times a week to allow your hair to get the natural oils.
Stop using so much conditioner!
Along with over-washing your hair, you need to calm down on the conditioner! Conditioner is another grease machine, applying all over your hair is going to way it down whilst adding oil to your roots, so try to just apply your conditioner to the end of your roots and instead use a hair mask once a week to help condition the top.
Get a new hair brush!
Though we are told that brushing your hair keep it healthy, it also keeps it greasy. If you are over-brushing your hair, your helping your scalp to produce natural oils which is going to make your hair appear greasy. Though it is not just over brushing, just like cleaning your make-up brushes you need to keep your hair brush clean. If you are using dirty hair brushes then you are transferring the dirt and oils onto your own hair. Also, if you hair brush is clogged up with hair it needs to be removed! Yet again the dirt and oils on the hair in your brush will transfer over to your own hair, so make sure your using appropriate brushes!
Stop using so many products!
My biggest down fall is products, I tend to use at least two products a day (my trusty dry shampoo and sea salt spray). The products your using may not be right for your hair type, so make sure that you are selecting products that are of best use for you! Also, the build up from your product is not great for you hair, make sure that your are detoxing and removing the products from your hair correctly!
