Amigurumi Small Teddy Bear

This small amigurumi Teddy Bear has to be my favourite thing to make, it is quick and easy to do and I love that this can be made in any colour and you can mix it up a little.

Materials

Wool – colour of your choice4.5 mm hook
Safety eyes
Scissors
Stuffing
Sewing needle

Abbreviations 

ch = chain
sc = single crochet
st = stitch
sl st = slip stitch
inc = increase – two sc in one st
des = decrease – two stitches together
BLO – Back Loops Only

Head and Body:

Round 1: magic circle with 6 sc. (6)
Round 2: inc in each st. (12)
Round 3: sc then inc in the next st. (18)
Round 4: sc in the next 2 then inc. (24)
Round 5: sc in the next 3 then inc. (30)
Round 6: sc in the next 4 then inc. (36)
Round 7-14: sc in each st. (36)
Round 15: sc in the next 4 then dec. (30)
Round 16: sc in the next 3 then dec. (24)
Round 17: sc in the next 2 then dec. (18)
Round 18: sc in the next 4 then dec. (15)
Round 19: sc in each st. (15)
Round 20: sc in the next 4 then inc. (18)
**Start stuffing and shaping the head**
Round 21: sc in the next 2 then inc. (24)
Round 22: sc in the next 4 then inc. (30)
Round 23-25: sc in each st. (30)
Round 26: sc in the next 4 then inc. (36)
Round 27: sc in the next 5 then inc. (42)
Round 28: sc in each st. (42)
Round 29: sc in the next 5 then dec. (36)
Round 30: sc in the next 4 then dec. (30)
Round 31: sc in the next 3 then dec. (24)
Round 32: sc in the next 2 then dec. (18)
**Start stuffing and shaping the body**
Round 33: sc in the next then dec. (12)
Round 34: sc in the next then dec. (8)
Round 35: dec all the way round.
Stuff, finish off and weave tail in.

Muzzle:

Round 1: magic circle with 6 sc. (6)
Round 2: inc in each st. (12)
Round 3: sc in each st. (12)
Finish off and leave a tail for sewing.


Ears (two needed):

Round 1: magic circle with 6 sc. (6)
Round 2: inc in each st. (12)
Round 3: sc then inc in the next st. (18)
Round 4: sc in the next 5 then inc. (21)
Round 5: sc in the next 5 then dec. (18)
Round 6: sc in the next 4 then dec. (15)
Round 7: sc in each st. (15)
Finish off and leave tail for sewing.

Arms (two needed):

Round 1: magic circle with 6 sc. (6)
Round 2: inc in each st. (12)
Round 3: sc in the next 5 then inc. (14)
Round 4-5: sc in each st. (14)
Round 6: sc in the next 5 then dec. (12)
Round 7-9: sc in each st. (12)
Round 10: sc in the next 4 then dec. (10)
Stuff, finish off and leave tail for sewing.

Legs (two needed):

Round 1: magic circle with 6 sc. (6)
Round 2: inc in each st. (12)
Round 3: sc then inc in the next st. (18)
Round 4: sc in the next 2 then inc. (24)
Round 5-6: sc in each st. (24)
Round 7: sc in the next 2 then dec. (18)
Round 8: dec 4 times then sc in the next 10 st. (14)
Round 9: dec 2 times then sc in the next 10 st. (12)
Round 10-12: sc in each st. (12)
Stuff, finish off and leave tail for sewing.

Tail:

Round 1: magic circle with 6 sc. (6)
Round 2: inc. in each st. (12)
Round 3: sc in the next 2 then inc. (18).
Round 4: sc in the next then dec. (12)
Finish off and leave tail for sewing. 


Assemble:

First place the eyes on the head between rows 10 and 11, leaving 6 stitches between both.
Then sew a nose onto the muzzle, then sew the muzzle below the eyes.
Sew both ears to the top of the head.
Sew arms just below the neck.
Sew legs to the bottom where they can hang or fold when sat.
Sew the tall onto the back.
