For Christmas I received the Philips Lumea Prestige BR1956/00 IPL hair removal device. Some would think that this is a strange gift to receive for Christmas but I love it!
What is the Philips Lumea Prestige?
The Philips Lumea Prestige is a IPL hair removal device. It uses an innovative light based technology called Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to break the cycle of hair regrowth. The IPL sends gentle pulses of light to the root of the hair to put the hair follicle into a resting phrase. This means that the hair will shed naturally and prevent hair regrowth. The IPL will only work when your hair is in a growing phase.
How often do you use the Philips Lumea Prestige?
It is recommended that you use the Lumea once every two weeks for the first four to five treatments. This is to ensure that hairs are going into the resting phrase. To help you with this you can download the Philips Lumea Prestige which recorded your treatments and gives dates for your future treatments, it also gives reminders so you do not forget. After the first treatment it can take up to 2 weeks for the hairs to start falling out. Then, after the first 2-3 treatments you start to see a reduction in hair growth.
Where can it be used?
The Limear Prestige comes with four different ends; one for the body; one for the face; one for the bikini line; and one for underarms.
Does it work?
So now its my turn to actually review the products. I have just completed my fourth treatment using the Philips Lumea Prestige and I have decided that I am in love. After the first treatment I could see a difference in my hair growth. There wasn’t half as many hairs growing back. Now after my fourth treatment, I can say ‘yes it does work!’ I have found that during the last couple of months I have reduced the amount I am shaving and reduced the amount of time spent worrying about whether or not I have shaved my underarms when at the gym.
If you are like me and HATE worrying about shaving or using hair removal cream because it is just a pain in the arse, then this is something you need to invest in. Yes it is a bit pricey but it is also a money shaver in the long run. It is cheaper then salon IPL and also cheaper than shavers and hair removal cream over time.
