Fall is my favourite time of year, unfortunately this year we aren’t quite getting that fall weather but here are 5 things you need to do this fall. Whether you are a fan of the autumn time or not, you have to admit that it is the cosiest time of year.
This is something I am speaking about a lot lately because I feel that self-care is so important. Whether you practise it for the mind, body or soul it is very important that you start to practise. Self-care brings so much positivity to a person. You do not have to practise self care religiously, the slightest bit is important. You may not realise it, but you are probably already practising self-care and if not there are just little changes you can make to practise.
Set Your Goals!
We all have a big goal we want to achieve and just tend to set that goal no matter how long it takes us to get there! Instead of setting one big goal, plan it out. Set out some small goals that can help you get to your final goal. This way, you will realise that you are actually achieving goals over the short term. Achieving these small goals can help stop any disappointment when you are not hitting that big, final goal.
Make Sleep A Priority!
There is no denying, during the summer we have all had sleepless nights. Struggling to get to sleep from the heat. Waking up multiple times in the night from sweating. This can have a large impact on your mood. Now there are darker mornings and darker nights, sleep will be a lot easier to get. Try and get that 7-8 hours of recommended sleep.
Remove all Obstacles!
We are already setting our goals but unfortunately we all find that we hit obstacles that prevent us from hitting them. There are many obstacles that are impossible to remove but there are a lot more that we can. This can be friends, stress, anxiety. The ones that we are unable to remove, learn how to control them and use them to help reach your goals instead of preventing them.
As much as we all love the fall time (well most of us). You may find that a lot of people can also get depressed this time of year. The darkness, the rain and the cold aren’t everybody’s favourites. It’s always good to reward yourself, even if it is just a bar of chocolate at the end of the week. Maybe if a face mask after a stressful day. It is not hard to reward yourself and keep yourself motivated.
