I have previously shared self-care ideas and decided to share ways to practise self-care for the soul. A lot of people would probably ignore this post and just look at how to practise self-care for body and mind.
Practising self-care for the soul can be quite hard to do. A lot of people think that it is all religious but it’s not. I am not a religious person and do not follow any religion but I believe that it is very simple to practise self-care. I have put together 6 easy ways to practise self-care for the soul and none of these include anything religious.
I use this all of the time, whether it is for mind, body or soul. I feel meditation it the best way to practise self-care and it is an all round way to practise. Meditation can be a very simple thing to be and it can take less than 10 minutes of your day. It can be done as soon as you wake up in the morning or before you go to bed at night. There are so many pros to meditation and how it can impact your health, physically and mentally.
Being outside in nature is so perfect for the soul. A ten minute walk is perfect for the soul, but try and afford walking round the streets. Go somewhere that is full of nature, for example a park is a perfect place. Somewhere with space and trees is good for the mind and soul.
We always talk about forgiving other people and how it is good for us. This time you need to think about forgiving yourself. We are our own worst critic but sometimes we need to stop. Look back at what you have achieved, ever done something you shouldn’t? Forgive yourself for it because it has made you who you are today!
Find A Passion!
This one can be either very easy or very hard. Finding a passion can’t always be easy. I have found that I have a passion for crocheting and designing and creating things but crocheting is something I never thought I would have love for. I used to make fun of my mom calling her an old lady and now I’m the one who spends hours with hooks and wool. So maybe you need to try something that you never thought you would love.
I have already spoke about how important it is to forgive yourself, now is the time to forgive somebody else. We all hold grudges and we all have regrets, so maybe it’s time to forgive somebody else. It could be for something small or something big, get back in touch with an old friend and all you can do is forgive even if they will not forget.
