I feel like this is something I need to type about. I have been seeing photos and comments all over Facebook talking about tampons being ‘gender neutral’. I’ve never had a problem with things becoming gender neutral, I will admit that I don’t always understand it but I will respect people’s decisions.
I have always had an opinion when it comes to feminism and how people have taken it too far which now leads to people giving up their manors. Walking round and a man not knowing whether or not he can open a door for me because I may snap at him and tell him that I can open it myself. The amount of times I get a door slammed in my face because of ‘equal rights’. I’m sorry but equal rights does not mean you are a damsel in distress if someone holds a door open for you. Equal rights means that we should all have respect and manners towards each other. No matter what gender you are you should be happy to hold a door for anyone.
I am happy to have Gender Neutral toilets in places but please also keep the male and female. There have been a number of times in my life where I have had to use the men’s toilets and it made me feel physically sick. I do not want to see men using the urinal or sit in toilet seat that a man has weed all over because he cannot aim. I would rather not have a man in the same toilet as me in public, it is the one place me and my friends can go and have a chat in private without any men around. I have nothing against gender neutral toilets but please do not take away my ladies.
People now seem to be afraid to call me a lady. I have grew up all my life being called a little lady and now I’m in a position to be called a lady without the little, nobody will say it. ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’ is a phrase you grow up hearing and one that always starts things off but now I can’t even be called a lady because people get offended. But one thing I will say about being a lady…
I NEED TAMPONS BECAUSE I AM A WOMAN!
Tampons are one thing you cannot take away from a woman. Women have periods. Periods are caused by female body parts. I am a woman and I have periods. So why on earth are we stopping tampons from being for females? I am happy for people to take things away from me as a woman for those who are gender neutral but not tampons!
Women have periods. Women have cramp every month. Women lose blood every month. Women have mood swings every month. Women lose eggs every month. Women have break outs every month. Women get over emotional every month.
If companies start putting male logos on companies I’m sorry but I would not buy their products. Maybe if people started thinking about those females that cannot afford these products instead of complaining that they are too feminine or say ‘she’ on them, the world would be a much better place.
A lot of people will disagree with this post but this is my opinion. As someone who classified as a woman and has to use these products every month because she is a woman, I get a little annoyed especially as products I use that make me feel like a woman are being changed and not look feminine.
This post may seem like I am totally against gender neutral tampons but honestly, I just feel like everything is changing so quickly. I feel that instead of changing all the tampon packaging there needs to be a larger range. Those for those who class as women, those who class as men and those who are non-binary. This way there does not need to be such a big deal made. I just feel like a range so that it’s not for special genders but different styled packaging and wording that makes everybody feel comfortable when purchasing the products.
