For Day 5 of blogtober I’ve decided to do the ‘best advice you’ve been given’ post, I found this post when I was researching about blogtober and decided to fit it into my daily blogs.
I found it difficult to pick one piece of advice so instead chose a few pieces.
Stop living in the past!
I remember being given this advice by my college tutor, it was straight after I was given back my first piece of coursework and I was telling her about how one of my teachers back in school used to write all over my coursework and made me feel like I was useless at writing. My tutor then told me to stop living in the past and ignore what my teacher used to do because I was more than capable.
Be in the present!
I am somebody who very much thinks over about the past and ‘what could of been’ or I very much sit there thinking about the future and wondering what lies ahead. Until one day my Nan told me I need to starting living in the present and to do this you need to be present. Just take a minute out of your day and think about the here and now because if you don’t focus on the present then you are not going to be able to think about the future.
Let them judge you!
This is something I find quite difficult to do and I’m still trying to follow this piece of advice. Why should it matter how somebody looks at you? Are you having fun? Are those the ones just sat in the corner? If you are doing something you love, something that is making you smile then do not allow other peoples stares stop you from doing what you are doing.
You are worthy!
This is a piece of advice that I was given by my Grandad and it is something that I tell different children I work with on a daily basis. I hate hearing children tell me they cannot do something or they have been told they are not capable of doing something because it is all lies, everybody is worthy of something and worthy to do whatever it is they dream of doing. Just because you do not come from a rich family or your family is from a certain background, it does not mean you are not worthy to do what other people do. Everybody is human and no human should be told they are not allowed to do what other are doing themselves!
What piece of advice have you been given and stick to?
