Every year we all decide that we are getting to set ourselves a goal. Whether it be to lose so many pounds or go to the gym more. Yet, how many people actually stick to them? Are we being too unrealistic with our goals and doing it just because we feel the need to?
What if we decided to change the goals we are setting. Why not create a goal that doesn’t just have an impact on us but everybody around us. Instead of deciding to go to the gym more why not think about other people. We all say that we are nice people but do we do as we say? Sometimes it’s better if we just change the way we treat others and that also impacts how we treat ourselves.
This upcoming new year I am going to make a different type of resolution. Instead of saying I’m going to eat healthier, I’m going to treat people better. I would be lying if I said I could stick to a healthy eating goal because I never would. Yet, there is no reason I could not be nicer to people. Yes I already feel like I am a nice person but couldn’t we all treat people a little nicer?
Every year I decide that I’m going to lose weight but give up after two weeks. So whilst losing weight would make me extremely happy, treating people with kindness would make me even happier. There is no better feeling than making somebody smile. Bringing people down just brings grudges and makes things complicated. Nobody can hold a grudge if your treating them kindly and bringing them happiness.

If you really want to set yourself a goal, why not think of something that can progress or something that is going to have an impact in five years time?
